          Julien, put into competition a selection of his paintings representative of his high-level pictorial approach. In this event, intended to be of great geographical scope, excellent artists took turns. The Jury Committee particularly noted, during the presentations of the styles, the works of the painter Louis Julien.

          An experienced artist, Louis Julien paints at the crossroads of the great styles of our time.

 

The painting of this artist convinced the Jury Committee, which awarded him the Grand Trophée du Style 2023 on July 2, 2023, following his admission to the Palmarès as a painter-Laureate. The works of Louis Julien, such as “Journal Intime” (36 x 36), year 2007, acrylic, “La Frontière du Temps” (24 x 36), year 2021, acrylic, or “The Great Battle”, (30 x 60), year 2018, acrylic, or even "All the Love in the World for Ukraine", (24 x 72), year 2022, acrylic, showed the power of his talent and his absolute mastery in his work of a pictorial stylistic grammar.

          For this artist, aesthetic expression on the canvas is a true painted language, an extension of his heart and his mind. Each of its touches is a piece of life. His paintings are shot through with an intense vibration, which directly reaches the viewer. Louis Julien has an astonishing capacity for emotional expression. It is translated under his brushes, in several dimensions of abstraction: evocative, symbolic, allegorical or interpretative of reality.

 

 

         Today, he is one of the very rare international artists who knows how to paint with such accuracy, at the crossroads of impressionism and expressionism, abstraction and figuration (as evidenced by the aforementioned works).

 

The artist has also managed, through his experience, to mix stylistics. By this means, he extracts and places on his canvases the feelings most buried within him. He brings to light, in his paintings, in light and contrast, the suffering of his experiences. This, by entering into a strange encounter with those of humanity. He succeeds, through the miracle of painting, in sharing with the viewer his fascinating universe, to make them aware of a common existence, which goes beyond us all.

 

 

 

Louis Julien, an international master of styles.

 

This artist creates in the field of contemporary painting, expressing a narrative, coming from the depths of his being, but just as much emerging from the immemorial strata of Art and lost civilizations. Shapes and colors in flat areas or impasto in relief, spontaneous gestures, new and grandiose visions, thus emerge, like new sources of life, on the surface of his canvases.

 

         The artist Louis Julien dominates with ease the most complex styles of abstract painting, from the impressionism of deep feelings, to a harsher, more violent expressionism. He knows how to measure the strength of the echoes of barely discernible or more apparent representations of the world. He knows the subtle nuances of the figurative, especially how to graduate them in their emergence.

 

          (Like those of the painting “La Frontière du Temps” then in the work “The Great Battle”). When he wants to, he also manages to take the viewer outside the conventional limits of reality, with a painting which then becomes abstract impressionist, with deep inner feelings (such as "Diary") or more abstract expressionist, in a heartbreaking cry that he sends resonating throughout the world, ("All the Love in the World for Ukraine").

          Louis Julien, proved during the 2nd World Artistic Styles Day 2023, that he possessed a true technical treasure: That of perfect mastery of contemporary art styles. He is able to express the whole range of feelings through Art and his exceptional brushes. We understand that in fact, he managed to uncover all the secrets of the mysterious language of signs and shapes, meaning and colors.

          Perhaps, one day, Louis Julien will wish to pass on his knowledge, his painting skills, to new generations and future painters? We hope so, in the interest of the evolution of Art. Because, let us say it, such talent should never disappear in the twists and turns of time. His paintings not only appeal to the eyes, but convey an experience, they are so many messages intended for the history of others, of the History of the world.

          To look at a painting by Louis Julien is to begin to understand humanity, to glimpse all possibilities. It is a work that makes us think about ourselves, but also questions us about everything that can be in vain, in a constantly changing world. A world in which this painter demonstrates that the essential must, above all, remain life.

​

 

          For his mastery of artistic styles and his contribution to the progress of international contemporary art, on July 2, 2023, the Jury Committee awarded the painter Louis Julien, winner of the Palmarès, the Grand Style Trophy of the 2nd World Artistic Styles Day 2023.
